Lake Street Energy Challenge

Getting energy efficiency and renewable programs to your door

The Lake Street Energy Challenge promoted energy efficiency and renewable energy programs through neighborhood groups and business associations along the Lake Street corridor. The initiative was delivered through the Midtown Community Works (MCW) Partnership and Xcel Energy’s Partners in Energy through December 2016. The Lake Street Energy Challenge focused on expanding the reach of residential, commercial, and renewable programs. This two year initiative completed a planning phase between September 2014-February 2015 and kicked off in June 2015.

The Lake Street Energy Challenge worked through neighborhood organizations to do outreach around Home Energy Squad®, Xcel Energy’s Home Lighting and Refrigerator Recycling, and community solar programs. Partners worked with community members interested in energy issues to plan a series of events in 2015 and 2016. These events shared information about energy efficiency and renewable energy programs for both homeowners and renters.
